Resumo

The Competitive Intelligence (CI) consists of a process responsible for contributing to the strategic analysis of organizations in environments characterized by intense and dynamic competition. Under this bias, this research aims to analyze and understand the use of Spatial Analysis (SA) as a strategy in the CI process. A bibliographical survey was carried out in the Database of Information Science (in portugueses initials Brapci), with a small amount of publications in the area of Information Science (IS) that carried out the application of Applied Geography (AG) in SA in the context of the CI process. The research pointed out three different organizations as examples of application of the CI process in a concomitant manner with the SA. After the survey, an initial relationship was constructed in a structured way between the Intelligence Cycle and Spatial Analysis, thus making it an important starting point for future research in the CI area that intend to approach the AG, in particular the CI process and the SA in an integrated manner.
