Resumo
Neste trabalho, é realizado um levantamento amplo e diacrônico da transtextualidade presente nas seis traduções brasileiras de Notre-Dame de Paris, de Victor Hugo. São abordados, em particular, estes quatro aspectos da textualidade, segundo a proposta teórica realizada por Gérard Genette, em Palimpsestes (1982): intertextualidade, paratextualidade, hipertextualidade e metatextualidade. Para compreender a transtextualidade nas traduções brasileiras, elas são comparadas com dez das principais edições francesas do romance Notre-Dame de Paris, 1482. O mapeamento destes aspectos nos revelou uma riqueza de paratextos editoriais, em particular de notas marginais, que aumentaram progressivamente ao longo dos anos, desde a sua primeira edição em 1831. A pormenorizada investigação destes paratextos nos permitiu compreender a relação da obra traduzida com o texto de partida, as diferentes estratégias tradutórias e editoriais envolvidas nas distintas publicações e a maneira como essas questões afetam o leitor.
In this study, a broad and diachronic survey of the transtextuality present in the six versions of Brazilian translations of Notre-Dame de Paris, by Victor Hugo, is described. Notably, four aspects of textuality are addressed, according to the theoretical proposal carried out by Gérard Genette, in Palimpsestes (1982): intertextuality, paratextuality, hypertextuality and metatextuality. To understand transtextuality in Brazilian translations, they have been compared with ten of the main French editions of the novel Notre-Dame de Paris, 1482. With the mapping of these aspects, it was revealed an abundance of editorial paratexts, in particular marginal notes, which have increased progressively over the years, since their first edition in 1831. The detailed investigation of these paratexts allowed us to understand the relationship between the translated work with the text from the start, the different translation and editorial strategies involved in the various publications, and how these issues affect the final reader.
