Resumo
A presente dissertação tem como objetivo realizar um levantamento acerca das modificações ocorridas na produção da indústria calçadista de Franca – SP a partir da implementação do neoliberalismo no Brasil, tal qual as ações realizadas pelo STIC, sindicato que representa os trabalhadores da indústria, diante do novo mundo do trabalho. É importante ressaltar que a ofensiva neoliberal presenciada atualmente no Brasil não é algo inédito, uma vez que esse processo teve início nos anos de 1990, gerando alterações não somente no papel do Estado, bem como no processo de produção, nas condições de trabalho e, consequentemente, nas bases de organização dos sindicatos. Por meio de bibliografia pertinente às temáticas estudadas, em especial sobre o período da década de 1990, o primeiro capítulo aborda os principais aspectos da ascensão do ideário neoliberal e o modo como decorreu sua concretização no Brasil, além da reestruturação produtiva realizada, principalmente, no setor de calçados de Franca. O segundo capítulo, por sua vez, discorre sobre a ação do sindicato dos sapateiros ante as consequências de tais mudanças no mundo do trabalho, que passou a ser marcado pelo alto desemprego, aumento da informalidade e a precarização das condições de trabalho.
This dissertation aims to address the changes that happend in the production of the footwear industry from Franca - SP since the institution of neoliberalism in Brazil, as well the actions made by STIC, the union that represents the industry's workers, in the face of the new world of work. It is important to emphasize that the neoliberal offensive currently witnessed in Brazil is not unprecedented, since this process began in the 1990's, resulting in changes not only in the State's role, but also in the production process, in working conditions and, consequently, on the base for the union's organization. Based on a bibliography about the themes studied, especially on the period of the 1990's, the first chapter addresses the main aspects of the rise of the neoliberal ideology and the way in which it took place in Brazil, in addition to the productive restructuring made, mainly, in Franca's footwear industry. The second chapter discusses the action did by the union of the footwear industry's workers in the face of the consequences of such changes in the world of work, which has been marked by high unemployment, increased informality and precarious working conditions
