The application of fungicides from different chemical groups and modes of action remains the most used alternative for the control of Phakopsora pachyrhizi. However, field applications still need a better understanding of the attributes in order to obtain a sufficient amount of deposition and persistence of the active ingredient on the leaf, resulting in effective control of the pathogen. Thus, the aim of the study was to evaluate the deposition of fungicidal spray solutions and the control of Asian soybean rust (ASR) at different angles of the spray fan and of the rain on the soybean crop. The experiments were conducted during the 2018/19 and 2019/20 seasons, where the physical and chemical characteristics of four fungicidal spray solutions were analyzed: 1- copper oxychloride SC formulation in the dosage 1.0 L ha-1; 2- copper oxychloride WP formulation in dosage 1.0 L ha-1; 3- mancozeb OD formulation in the dosage 1.5 L ha-1 e; 4- mancozeb WG formulation in dosage 1.5 L ha-1. To verify the effect of the angulations, the products were tested in the field under different positions of the spray fan: 30° forward in the displacement driving direction (F30º); vertical plane towards the crop (0°) and 30° backward in the opposite driving direction (B30º), besides an additional treatment as an untreated control. To verify the effect of the rain on the application of these products, two experiments were carried out on soybean vases, the first changing the rainfall volumes (0, 5, 10, 15 and 20 mm) and the second changing the intervals between application and rain simulation (without rain, 2, 6, 12 and 12 hours). As a result of the experiments conducted in the field, it was possible to observe that the area under the disease progress curve (AUDPC) was directly influenced by the mancozeb product in OD formulation and by the median volumetric diameter. In the first season, the angles F30º and B30º were similar and in the second, the similar angles were F30 ° and 0 °. For the rain simulation experiments, it was found that the volumes and intervals without rain tested in this study varied in a different way in the deposit of the fungicide formulations on the thirds of the soybean plants. However, they did not influence the control of ASR. There was no removal of the product SC copper oxychloride under any volume of rain in the upper third of the plant. There was no removal of active ingredient from liquid formulations for any interval between the application and the occurrence of rain, while for solid formulations there was removal even after 24 hours in the upper third. It is concluded that the OD mancozeb product presented the greatest control of ASR in the field. The fan angulations evaluated did not result in differences for AUDPC and yield, grouping differently between seasons. The fungicide SC copper oxychloride has greater resistance to the removal of the active ingredient in the upper third of the plant after being subjected to rain. Studies on the conditions which influence the results of the angle of the spray fan as well as on the relationship between the deposition of products on the leaves and the control of pathogens after being subjected to rain must be deepened.
