School indiscipline has been the subject of countless discussions among those who work in the educational area, so that discourse on this topic in the school environment is relevant, because depending on the way it is understood and faced in this environment it can constitute an obstacle to the teaching and learning processes, as well as promoting losses to the exercise of the teaching function and to the process of appropriation of knowledge, on the part of the students considered as undisciplined. Predominantly, individual causes have been attributed to the student and to aspects of his reality as responsible for the behaviors commonly characterized, at school, as indiscipline, without the appropriate reflection on the implications of social and educational aspects that justify or aggravate such behaviors, which it contributes to the strengthening of the discourse about the diseases of not behaving and, consequently, of the medicalization process of education. Under this hypothesis, it is expected to answer the following question: "Do the ways in which the school and its actors understand indiscipline and not behaving contribute to the medicalization of behaviors and, consequently, to the schooling process of students considered undisciplined?" Faced with this questioning and supported by Bakhtinian and Vigotskian assumptions, this study was undertaken with the objective of understanding how four students of second and third years of elementary school, considered undisciplined, their respective teachers and the director of the school unit discourse on indiscipline and the issues of not behaving in the classroom. To this end, we conducted field research with the use of free speech with these protagonists, linked to a school, from the state public network of a small city in the interior of São Paulo, considered, as the one that presents, in the initial years of elementary school, the higher index of indiscipline situations in the classroom. We also undertake documentary research, based on pedagogical documentation about students considered by their teachers to be undisciplined. For the analysis of the data, in the light of the enunciative-discursive theory, we consider the oral statements of the protagonists and the written statements recorded, in this documentation, about students considered undisciplined, representative of the discourse of the implicit and / or explicitly refracted school in this context. Considering the oral and written statements discursivized by the protagonists, three axes of analysis were revealed from the data produced: “The senses about indiscipline and not behaving in the classroom in the voices of students and school”, which comprised the meanings that each protagonist attributed to school indiscipline and the issues of not behaving; “The traditional and homogenizing perspective of teaching: accountability, blaming and punishment for not behaving”, which discussed the process of normalizing and standardizing behavior, based on the school model, in addition to highlighting the ways in which the school seeks blaming the student and aspects of his reality as the one responsible for situations of indiscipline in the classroom; and “Discursive labels and stigmas about the student: implications for the diseases of not behaving”, which deals with the issue of labels and stigmas refracted by the school about the student, which contribute to the strengthening of the discourse about the diseases of not behaving. With this study we hope to contribute to the expansion of the discussion about the meanings about indiscipline, in situations where it is related to diseases of not behaving, discursivized in the school context, with a view to greater understanding, by professionals in the field of education and health, about the harmful effects of the medicalization process of education.
