Resumo
A mídia, e em especial a ficção, através de representações positivas e sensíveis, pode colaborar na construção da identidade de adolescentes e jovens LGBTQIA+ que no seu dia a dia enfrentam violências e opressões em diversos níveis e ambientes sociais. Um desses ambientes é a escola, local onde a heteronormatividade é constantemente reforçada tanto por docentes quanto por discentes. Este trabalho busca o ponto de convergência entre a importância da representatividade na mídia para a autoestima e reconhecimento de adolescentes de sexualidades dissidentes e o uso da mídia por parte de professores em sala de aula como ferramenta de inclusão e discussão de vivências não heterossexuais e cisgêneras. Partindo da vivência individual do autor como adolescente gay no ambiente escolar e de seu reconhecimento como pessoa LGBTQIA+ estimulado por uma representação midiática positiva, o trabalho busca ampliar e atingir o coletivo desse grupo minoritário e também oferecer dados importantes a outros docentes e pessoas em geral que buscam informações sobre diversidade sexual. O aporte teórico desta pesquisa se esforça para tentar ser tão plural como a comunidade que possui como tema. Portanto, além de trabalhos, teses e artigos acadêmicos de autores diversos, outras fontes de referência utilizadas são: os Estudos Culturais de Douglas Kellner (2001), as discussões sobre gênero e movimento queer de Judith Butler (1990) e Richard Miskolci (2012), os relatos sobre a infância e vida gay de Bruno Bimbi (2017), além do histórico de lutas do movimento homossexual no mundo e no Brasil de João Silvério Trevisan (2000), Simões e Facchini (2009) e Renan Quinalha (2018). Como exemplos das representações de vivências gays, ao fim do trabalho são analisadas duas obras cinematográficas com mais de vinte anos de distância entre elas: Delicada Atração (Beautiful Thing) de 1996 e Com Amor, Simon (Love, Simon) de 2018. Por meio da comparação entre as obras, visa-se compreender as diferenças, semelhanças, estagnações e evoluções que a representação de jovens de sexualidades dissidentes teve ao longo do tempo
The media, and especially fiction, through positive and sensitive representations, can contribute with the construction of the identity of LGBTQIA+ adolescents and young people who, in their daily lives, face violence and oppression at different levels and social environments. One of these environments is the school, a place where heteronormativity is constantly reinforced by both teachers and students. This paper seeks the point of convergence between the importance of representativeness in the media for the self-esteem and recognition of adolescents of dissident sexualities and the use of media by teachers in the classroom as a tool for inclusion and discussion of non-heterosexual and cisgender experiences. Based on the author's individual experience as a gay teenager in a school environment and from his recognition as an LGBTQIA+ person after being encouraged by a positive media representation, the work seeks to expand and reach the collectiveness of this minority group and also offer important data to other teachers and people generally seeking information about sexual diversity. The theoretical contribution of this research strives to try to be as plural as the community it has as its theme. Therefore, in addition to works, theses and academic articles by authors, other reference sources are: Douglas Kellner's Cultural Studies (2001), discussions about gender and queer movement by Judith Butler (1990) and Richard Miskolci (2012), Bruno Bimbi's (2017) accounts of childhood and gay life, as well as the history of struggles of the homosexual movement in the world and in Brazil by João Silvério Trevisan (2000 ), Simões and Facchini (2009) and Renan Quinalha (2018). As examples of representations of gay experiences, at the end of this essay, two cinematographic works more than twenty years apart will be analyzed: Delicada Atração (Beautiful Thing) from 1996 and Com Amor, Simon (Love, Simon) from 2018. By comparing the two works, we aim to understand the differences, similarities, stagnations and evolutions that the representation of young people of dissident sexualities had over time
