Brazil's water resources have been significant object of interest mainly due to population water supply and segments such as industry and agribusiness, which makes knowledge and administration of watersheds and aquifers essential for society. In the State of São Paulo, in addition to the surface drainage network, it is pertinent to highlight the importance of underground aquifers, which are relevant to the hydrological cycle and the water supply of cities. The present study seeks to understand the underground water flow at Serra de Itaqueri, city of Ipeúna (SP), located in the interior of State. The study location is characterized by a river valley and its headspring, positioned at the limit of the backslope of cuesta. This research gathers regional structural analysis by using satellite images and local structural data of outcrop, together with geophysical survey through the electrical tomography technique in a Schlumberger arrangement. Seven parallel lines of 400 meters with 50 meters apart were arranged, besides an orthogonal row with 320 meters long at the drainage line. All lines were made with electrode spacing of 10 meters. The electro resistivity data was processed in the Res2Dinv software to generate a 2D inversion model. Posteriorly, the 2D models were exported to the Oasis Montaj Geosoft software to elaborate the 3D visualization model. The obtained results indicate an underground flow system of a fractured aquifer type, with evidence of connection with drainage both on the front and on the backslopes of cuestas. The geometry observed in the 3D model is two water bodies elongated in the NW-SE direction, located on the flanks of valleys and with NE-SW direction structures that connect them. The previous studies of regional geology with a focus on tectonics, demonstrated that the last tectonic pulse was able to generate dextral transcurrent tectonics E-W. The σ1 has NW-SE direction, the same trend as the lineament that controls the drainage line in the study area, and the axis σ3 has NE-SW direction. The present work presented good results by using a series of methods as remote sensing, geoprocessing, collection and interpretation of structural field information and geophysical data.
