Resumo
A partir de uma contextualização acerca do que é o mito e sua importância para a sociedade, partindo dos estudos de Joseph Campbell e Mircea Eliade, o trabalho busca trazer à luz as relações entre o mito e o teatro, sobretudo a importância do primeiro para com o segundo, referenciando dois encenadores importantes do século XX, Antonin Artaud e Jerzy Grotowski. Abordando alguns aspectos da encenação e do trabalho das atrizes e atores em um teatro que se pretende ao mesmo tempo sagrado e profano, chega-se por fim a uma defesa da relevância deste teatro no mundo contemporâneo.
From a contextualization about what is the myth and its importance to the society, starting from the studies of Joseph Campbell and Mircea Eliade, this work wants to bring to light the relationship between myth and theater, above all the importance of the second to the first one, bringing to reference two important theater directors of the XX century, Antonin Artaud and Jerzy Grotowski. Approaching some aspects of the scene and the work of the actresses and the actors of a theater that intends to be at the same time sacred and profane, it finally comes to a defense of the relevance of this theater in the contemporary world.
