Resumo
A pesquisa tem como objetivo realizar o estudo sobre a formação, as transformações e as permanências do Jardim Público de São Manuel (SP), projetado pelo paisagista paulista Reynaldo Dierberger em 1928, e ainda conservado em seus aspectos estruturais, como parte de seu desenho e de sua vegetação. Metodologicamente a pesquisa se estrutura em três partes que compõem os capítulos da dissertação: na primeira, trata-se do processo de expansão para o interior paulista no que tange à formação do patrimônio e as benfeitorias realizadas nos espaços públicos da cidade de São Manuel a partir do século XIX. Na segunda parte identifica a formação, as transformações e as permanências do Jardim Público de São Manuel no período de 1899 a 1929, respectivamente quando se iniciam as remodelações nesse espaço, até a implantação do projeto de Reynaldo Dierberger. Na terceira parte identifica os elementos construídos e vegetais do projeto de 1929 que permaneceram no Jardim Público na atualidade, confrontando o uso dos espaços ao longo do tempo. Para isso, utilizou-se da metodologia comparativa entre fontes primárias e secundárias. Neste contexto, almeja-se que a pesquisa possa contribuir com a preservação e restauro desse jardim.
The research aims to study the formation, transformations and permanences of the Public Garden of São Manuel (SP), designed by the landscaper Reynaldo Dierberger in 1928 and still preserved in its structural aspects, as part of its design and vegetation. Methodologically the research is structured in three parts that compose the chapters of the dissertation: the first part is about the process of the expansion to the interior of São Paulo in what concerns the formation of the patrimony and the improvements carried through in the public spaces of the city of São Manuel from the XIX century. The second part identifies the formation, transformations and permanences of the Public Garden of São Manuel in the period from 1899 to 1929, respectively when the remodeling begins in this space until the implementation of the project by Reynaldo Dierberger. The third part identifies the built elements and vegetation of the 1929 project that have remained in the Public Garden nowadays, confronting the use of spaces over time. Thereunto was used the comparative methodology between primary and secondary sources. In this context, is expected that the research can contribute to the preservation and restoration of this garden.
