Resumo
O problema que abordaremos nesta dissertação é: quais são os elementos teóricos presentes na obra de Herbert Marcuse que nos auxiliam a refletir sobre as noções de revolução e emancipação Especificamente, quais são em Eros e Civilização e em Um ensaio para a libertação os elementos teóricos que contribuem para a reflexão sobre as noções de revolução e emancipação? Para isso, apresentamos alguns componentes teóricos em duas partes: a primeira parte diz respeito aos objetivos da Teoria Crítica, e sobretudo aos objetivos de Marcuse; e a segunda parte diz respeito ao pensamento marcuseano de modo geral, mas principalmente, destaca elementos das obras: O fim da utopia, Eros e Civilização e Um ensaio para a libertação. Entre os temas que podemos encontrar nas obras de Herbert Marcuse estão as relações entre cultura, dominação, tecnologia, utopia, imaginação e subjetividade. Para Marcuse, a luta pela emancipação humana depende também da afirmação da subjetividade, que traz em si o impulso primordial pela liberdade. Apresentaremos, então, alguns argumentos de Marcuse em relação à memória, à imaginação e à arte; estas, segundo ele, seriam as forças contrárias à dominação, forças que não puderam ser aniquiladas e que continuam a militar contra a insuficiência da civilização.
The problem we will address in this dissertation is: what are the theoretical elements present in Herbert Marcuse's work that help us reflect on the notions of revolution and emancipation? Specifically, what are the theoretical elements in Eros and Civilization and in An Essay on Liberation that contribute to the reflection on the notions of revolution and emancipation? For this, we present some theoretical components in two parts: the first part concerns the objectives of Critical Theory, and especially Marcuse's objectives; and the second part concerns Marcusean thought in general, but mainly highlights elements from the works: The End of Utopia, Eros and Civilization, and An Essay on Liberation. Among the themes that we can find in Herbert Marcuse's works are the relationships between culture, domination, technology, utopia, imagination, and subjectivity. For Marcuse, the struggle for human emancipation also depends on the affirmation of subjectivity, which carries in itself the primordial impulse for freedom. We will then present some of Marcuse's arguments in relation to memory, imagination and art; these, according to him, would be the forces opposing domination, forces which could not be annihilated and which continue to militate against the insufficiency of civilization.
