This work presents a literature review of how the violation of CP symmetry, known as Charge-Parity, could explain the problem of Baryogenesis: Why there is more matter than antimatter in the known Universe. The first chapter of this work is based on Quantum Field Theory and is a study of discrete symmetries: Parity, Charge conjugation, Time Reversal and the CPT theorem. These are very important symmetries in the study of particle physics. In the next chapter, the violation of charge-parity symmetry is introduced, its discovery will be discussed, how it occurs in the Standard Model and what is its possible connection with the problem of asymmetry existing between matter and antimatter in the Universe. The later chapter is a study about the CKM matrix, a unitary matrix that deals with possible changes in the flavor of quarks through weak interaction, its parameterizations and the unitary triangle as a result of it. The last chapter uses all the previous concepts to relate CP violation with Baryogenesis, especially with regard to the electroweak sector of the Standard Model. Finally, the conclusions and perspectives will discuss the results of this research and what are the prospects for future results according to more recent experiments.
