The most recent edition of Marxism and Philosophy of Language in Brazil acknowledged the authorship of Valentin Nikolaievitch Voloshinov. It was published in 2017 and the translation work was carried out by Sheila Grillo and Ekaterina Vólkova Américo directly from the original Russian edition, as a result, it enabled Brazilian readers to understand the uniqueness of this author in the face of his concealment as a member of the Bakhtin Circle. In the last two decades, on the international scene, there has been a significant volume of scientific production on the investigation of the context of production of this book and its reception in the West. In this way, numerous issues crystallized among the supporters of the ideas of the supposed Circle in the reception of these ideas, such as problems of authorship, of translations of categories and concepts, of his biography and, among them, of the theoretical affiliation of Valentin Voloshinov to the principles of what he calls the individualistic subjectivism of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, more specifically, this author's alignment with the ideas of Wilhelm von Humboldt and Karl Vossler. This thesis had as its initial objective the investigation of this last hypothesis, therefore, the analysis of the philosophical foundations of this current of linguistic thought, from rationalism and empiricism of the 17th century to German romanticism and idealism in the 18th and early 19th centuries, which the authors of individualist subjectivism were the basis in this period, however, they proved to be inadequate to understand the theoretical and methodological sources of Valentin Voloshinov's philosophy of language. I abandon this hypothesis because, when performing the denial of idealism in Voloshinov (2017), the presences of Plekhanov (1963; 1976; 1978) and Bukharin (1970) emerge as founders of his thought, consequently, the influence of these authors became the objective of this research to understand the denial of idealism and the foundations of Voloshinov's dialectical monism (2017). It is, therefore, the reconstitution of the author's bibliographic sources, in order to penetrate new layers of understanding of this work, using the monistic and dialectical method of Voloshinov (2017) and Medvedev (2012) about the methodological creations, opposing the comparative methodology. The investigative path was determined by my object, in this way, it was not through a methodological application that the possibilities of analysis were presented, but through the traces left by the object throughout the data collection with the theoretical confrontation of hypotheses with Grillo (2017). ), Brandist (2012), Faraco (2009) and Sériot (2015). Therefore, this investigation confronted the hypothesis that Voloshinov (2017) would have sociologized the categories of this current of thought, expressed by the commentators of this book mentioned above. The results of this thesis show the mistake in tracking Voloshinov's (2017) foundations in the theoretical confrontation, presented by commentators as a dialectical synthesis between individualist subjectivism and abstract objectivism. Therefore, an examination of the author's work highlights the centrality of dialectical monism, social psychology and the ideology of Plekhanov (1963; 1976; 1978) and Bukharin (1970) as key concepts to understand Valentin Voloshinov's monistic and dialectical character.
