The article aims to show the qualitative analysis concerning the modification and the acquisition of new concepts as well as to identify the contribution of computer use in an intervention activity with students from Engineering. In order to ground the research it was addressed the issue of the possibilities and limitations of approaches for computer use in education. For methodological design it was used for the analyze of content by performing the description of the activity along with the creation of categories and units of analysis and, from there it was introduced the frames containing the category analysis with four groups to be evaluated. The result of the analysis concerning to the registers of the selected groups, according to the researchers' perception has shown that familiarity with the software Geogebra helped them to express themselves through the Portuguese language: the development, interpretation and understanding of mathematical model activity. Furthermore the constructionist view through which the activity was proposed and developed gave students the modification and acquisition of new concepts.
