The purpose of this study was to evaluate the physical quality and the modeling of penetration resistance curve of a dystrophic cohesive Yellow Latosol under different managements of pasture and native forest. The study was organized in split plot evaluating five managements systems (continuous grazing, rotational grazing, crop-livestock integration, integrated croplivestock- forest / Fire, Permanent preservation areanative forest) and four layers (0-0.1; 0, 1 to 0.2; 0.2- 0.3; 0.3-0.4 m) on a property located in the Cerrado region. All managements grazing reduced soil physical quality when compared to permanent preservation area -native forest. The best equation that estimated the soil resistance to penetration (RP) was achieved in the management permanent preservation area, where the estimated RP is given by RP = 8.02-45.53Gravimetrical moisture + 3.15Bulk density, R2 = 0.97.
