Adaptação intercultural: as Juliet(a)s de Alice Munro e Pedro Almodóvar

Resumo
O presente trabalho tem como objetivo buscar, nas obras “Chance”, “Soon”, “Silence” (2004), de Alice Munro, e no filme Julieta (2016), de Pedro Almodóvar, rastros de como a cultura mobiliza-se no processo de adaptação, a partir da perspectiva da adaptação intercultural, na qual um texto localizado em uma matriz cultural é adaptado em outra. Tanto Munro quanto Almodóvar são referências nos respectivos contextos nacionais e, consequentemente, considerados representantes dos países e das culturas natais no cenário internacional. Dessa forma, quando Almodóvar adapta uma narrativa situada no Canadá, com trama e personagens peculiares à sociedade local, e a transfere para a Espanha, com características igualmente próprias, faz-se imprescindível que aspectos culturais passem por um prisma de ressignificância, tornando-os verossímeis a nova localização. Faremos, portanto, um estudo sobre os fazeres artísticos de Munro e de Almodóvar, destacando a forma como a cultura nacional e regional influencia e é influenciada por seus trabalhos. No caso da contista, nos baseamos em textos de Thacker (1988; 2010; 2016), Gibson (2010), Hooper (2008), etc. Já no de Almodóvar, recorremos, entre outros, a autores presentes no A Companion to Pedro Almodóvar (2013), organizado por D'Lugo e Venon, além da entrevista concedida a Strauss (2008). Quanto à metodologia, adotamos a proposta por Silva (2012) de análise estilística de adaptação intercultural, organizada em cinco categorias: língua falada, cronótopo, dominantes genéricas, trama e estilo de encenação. Adicionamos, ainda, uma nova categoria, de cruzamentos temáticos. Em cada etapa, trazemos referências específicas, como, por exemplo, a respeito das relações diplomáticas e sociais entre Espanha e Marrocos, com artigo de Ferrer-Gallardo (2008), e da figura materna como construção social na Espanha, de acordo com Schmoll (2014). Finalizamos trazendo uma reflexão a respeito da adaptação intercultural e as possibilidades dentro da área de Estudos de Adaptação.
The objective of this work is to find out, in the short stories “Chance”, “Soon”, “Silence” (2004), by Alice Munro, and in the movie Julieta (2016), by Pedro Almodóvar, traces of how culture is a mobilizing element in the adaptation process, from the perspective of interculture adaptation, in which a text settled in a cultural matrix is adapted into another. Both Munro and Almodóva are references in their respective national contexts and, consequently, considered representatives of their native countries and cultures on the international scenario. Thus, as Almodóvar adapts a narrative located in Canada, with plot and characters peculiar to the local society, and transfers it to Spain, with its own characteristics, it is essential that cultural aspects go through a prism of resignificance, making them credible to the new location. Therefore, we study about Munro's and Almodóvar's artistic achievements, highlighting the way in which the national and regional culture influences and is influenced by their works. In the case of the short story writer, we draw on texts by Thacker (1988; 2010; 2016), Gibson (2010), Hooper (2008), etc. As for Almodóvar, we resorted, among others, to authors present in A Companion to Pedro Almodóvar (2013), organized by D'Lugo and Venon, in addition to an interview granted to Strauss (2008). As for the methodology, we adopted the proposal by Silva (2012) of stylistic analysis of intercultural adaptation, organized into five categories: spoken language, chronotope, generic dominants, plot, and staging style. We also add a new category, of thematic crossovers. In each stage, we bring specific references, such as, for example, regarding the diplomatic and social relations between Spain and Morocco, with an article by Ferrer-Gallardo (2008), and the mother figure as a social construction in Spain, according to Schmoll (2014). We conclude by bringing a reflection regarding intercultural adaptation and the possibilities within the field of Adaptation Studies.
