Resumo
Este trabalho analisa a inserção da ciência geográfica e da temática ambiental no contexto das reformas educacionais implantadas recentemente em nosso país. Apontamos como essas reformas, que culminaram com a elaboração dos chamados Parâmetros Curriculares Nacionais (PCN's), fazem parte de um contexto político-econômico associado às transformações que vem ocorrendo no cenário mundial. Discutimos a evolução histórica da Geografia passando pelas principais correntes de pensamento que marcaram a trajetória dessa ciência. Analisamos detalhadamente os fundamentos teóricos propostos no documento dos PCN's da área de Geografia, como forma de identificar a concepção de Geografia sugerida nessa proposta curricular. Procuramos analisar se os conteúdos sugeridos nessa proposta curricular refletem a concepção de Geografia nela adotada. Examinamos os fundamentos teóricos da atual crise ambiental, apontando como a degradação da natureza está intimamente relacionada ao modelo da sociedade contemporânea. Ressaltamos a incorporação da temática ambiental no âmbito escolar, analisando o meio ambiente no âmbito dos PCN', e destacando a relação entre o discurso ambiental contemporâneo e a abordagem do meio ambiente nessa proposta curricular. Por fim, manifestamos a nossa opinião a respeito das reflexões que realizamos sobre a incorporação da Geografia e da temática ambiental na referida proposta curricular. Em suma, é sobre a análise do pensamento geográfico e do meio ambiente no contexto dos PCN's que se dedicam às páginas desse trabalho.
This piece of work analyses the insertion of geographical science and the environmental thematic in the context of educational upgrades recently implanted in our country. We point out how these upgrades, which have culminated with the elaboration of what is called National Curricular Paramenters (PCN's), are part of a political-economical context which is associated with the last changes in the general world scene. We discuss the historical evolution of the Geography going through the main thinking chains that have set the trajectory of this science. We accurately analyse the theorical fundaments proposed in the PCN's documents in the Geography area, as a manner of identifying the conception of Geography suggested in this curricular proposal. We chose for analysing if the contents suggested in this curricular proposal exactly reflect the conception of Geography that has been adopted by it. We examine the theorical fundaments of the current environmental crisis, pointing out how the degradation of nature is deeply related to the current model of society. We highlight the incorporation of environmental thematic in the scholar atmosphere, analysing the environment in the PCN's atmosphere, and highlighting the relationship between the current environmental speech and the way the environment is held in this curricular proposal. Finally, we manifest our opinion about the reflections we have achieved on the incorporation of Geography in the environmental thematic in the refered curricular proposal. In short, the pages of this work are dedicated to the analysis of the geographical thinking and the environment in the context of PCN's.
