O romance A Honra Perdida de Katharina Blum, de Heinrich Böll, ganhou projeção internacional ao longo do século XX e vem tornando-se notório em solo brasileiro a partir de sua mais recente tradução, publicada em 2019 pela editora Carambaia. Ainda que sua relevância venha sendo cada vez mais exaltada por meio dos intertextos relacionados à produção e à disseminação de fake news, violência sexual e jornalismo investigativo, notamos, entretanto, contribuições críticas majoritariamente concentradas nos anos subsequentes à sua primeira edição, 1974, de modo que a máxima estabelecida para a análise deste texto literário dedicava-se à exploração da relação entre o autor e a imprensa alemã, representada pelo poderoso jornal Bild Zeitung, o qual Böll decide confrontar no auge das tensões promovidas pela Guerra Fria na antiga Bundesrepublik Deutschland, a Alemanha Ocidental. Com isso em mente, este trabalho almeja propor a exploração de novas relações críticas em torno de Katharina Blum, investigando sua intrigante linguagem narrativa para tentar responder à seguinte questão: Quais os fatores responsáveis por possivelmente inserir um romance escrito em plena Guerra Fria na Alemanha dentro do conceito de contemporaneidade aplicado aos estudos literários? Para isso, encontram-se dispostos os seguintes paradigmas: a reflexão em torno desse conceito de contemporaneidade, em sua categoria de transição ao frágil estatuto do tempo cronológico, a análise de aspectos essenciais ligados à composição da linguagem bölliana em A Honra Perdida de Katharina Blum, como o funcionamento da heterodiegese, a linguagem jornalística e a articulação dos anacronismos; modificados pela adaptação fílmica aqui comparativamente destacada, além da associação do texto literário, por contraste e por complementação, aos preceitos críticos ligados à recepção do romance na Alemanha e também no Brasil. Além disso, implicações históricas e estéticas envolvidas no trabalho de H. Böll foram incluídas para ilustrar o elemento intrínseco ao qual nos referimos através do título desta pesquisa, funcionando também como chave para a compreensão de Katharina Blum e sua inserção na contemporaneidade; será isso, sua inconciliação com o tempo.

The novel The Lost Honour of Katharina Blum, by Heinrich Böll, was internationally acclaimed throughout the twentieth century and has also become notorious on the Brazilian scene since its latest translation, published in 2019 by Carambaia. Although its relevance has been enhanced through the intertexts related to the production and dissemination of fake news, sexual violence and investigative journalism, it is noticeable, however, the majority of literary criticism mostly articulated in the years following its first edition, published in 1974. This means that the main concept established for the analysis of this literary text was concerned with the relationship between the author and the German press, represented by the powerful newspaper Bild Zeitung, which Böll decided to confront at the height of the tensions during the Cold War, back in the former Bundesrepublik Deutschland, the West Germany. Considering it, this work aims to explore new critical possibilities around Katharina Blum, investigating its intriguing narrative resources in order to answer the following question: For which reasons can we possibly include this novel, written in the midst of the Cold War in Germany, within the concept of contemporary literature? For this purpose, the following paradigms are arranged: first, the reflection around this concept of contemporary literature – regarding its transition from the fragile status of chronological time – further, the analysis of essential aspects related to the Böllian language in The Lost Honour of Katharina Blum were conducted, for instance, the heterodiegetic narrator, journalistic writing and anachronism; modified by the 1975 movie adaptation, here comparatively investigated, as well as its association (by contrast and by addition) with the critical precepts linked to the reception of the novel in Germany and also in Brazil. Finally, historical and aesthetic implications involved in the work of H. Böll were here included to illustrate the mandatory element to which we refer in the title of this study; also functioning as a key to the understanding of Katharina Blum and its presence in contemporaneity, that is, its inconciliation with time.
