Resumo

We present results of research conducted during a course of Post-Graduate Education of Universidade Estadual Paulista Julio de Mesquita Filho. This initiative was with the intention of making an investigation of the type state of knowledge, using methodological procedures focusing on literature review. The research aimed to examine the main themes, issues, proposals and results conveyed articles in national journals in the field of education and the texts of the meetings of the National Association of Graduate Studies and Research in Education, published between 1999 and 2009 on the work the teacher and the curriculum of early childhood education. The contributions from these studies, grouped into different dimensions, we point out aspects that constitute challenges to the formation of teacher education.
