The Recreation of the Gospels in Boa Nova, by Humberto de Campos (Spirit)

Abstract

In the episodic novel Boa Nova, the extraphysical author Humberto de Campos (2015) recounts, through Chico Xavier's psychography, thirty chapters, episodes of the life of Jesus, in which he fictionalizes the biblical matter to form reports that add thoughts, feelings and emotions of the main characters. Campos's language in this novel differs from that used in other works by the same spiritual author; the author wants to migrate from the earthly universe of the enlightened spirits to the celestial one, of the evangelized spirits. In this article, we address some particularities of this novel, reflecting first, from the methodology proposed by Luigi Giussani, about the proper posture for consider the phenomenon of mediumistic spiritist literature.
