Com o objetivo de investigar como se dão as relações entre Literatura e Filosofia, duas áreas
que se contrapõem na forma mas se assemelham à medida que sistematizam reflexões quanto
ao sentido da vida, da ordem do mundo material e dos mistérios envolvendo os seres, nosso
trabalho pretende discutir como esses conceitos propriamente filosóficos aparecem de
maneira prática e imaginativa em obras literárias. Essa discussão, a partir de um trabalho de
leitura interdisciplinar e temática, viabiliza o cotejo de diferentes leituras e interpretações de
uma obra literária. Assim, nosso objeto de estudo foram os escritos de João Guimarães Rosa,
mais especificamente seus contos “Famigerado” e “A Benfazeja” de Primeiras Estórias, pelo
fato de sua fortuna crítica contemplar poucos trabalhos realizados segundo essa linha de
pesquisa e por apresentarem, em sua estrutura narrativa, temáticas similares aquelas
sistematizadas pela Filosofia, especialmente reflexões quanto à linguagem, ao amor, morte,
viagem e destino. Esse trabalho e essa leitura, tendo como aporte teórico os ensaios críticos de
Benedito Nunes (2013) e Rohden e Pires (2009), nos possibilitaram demonstrar como esses
temas dialogam de forma interseccional com ambas áreas do conhecimento, como oferecem
novos contornos e possibilidades de interpretação frente ao existir e às escolhas de cada
personagem no espaço do sertão e, ainda, demonstrar como a própria literatura rosiana traz à
luz o diálogo dessas duas áreas do saberes, apesar de ser uma linha de pesquisa e uma leitura
ainda pouco explorada por sua fortuna crítica

This research has the objective of investigating how the relations between Literature and
Philosophy develop, understanding how these two areas are opposed in purposes but similar
as they both systematize reflections on the meaning of life, the order of the material world and
the mysteries involving human beings. Our work intends to discuss how these properly
philosophical concepts appear in a practical and imaginative structure within literary works,
also discussing how they can be interpreted in an interdisciplinary analysis, in order to
compare these themes in different readings and interpretations regarding the literary work.
Thus, our object of study was the short stories written by João Guimarães Rosa,
“Famigerado” and “A Benfazeja '' from his book Primeiras Estórias. The choice of studying
these two short stories was made due to the fact that his literary fortune contemplates few
works written according to this line of research and also for their highlighting, in its narrative
structure, themes similar to those systematized by Philosophy, especially reflections
concerning language, love, death, travel and destiny. This work and this analysis, having as
theoretical support the critical essays of Benedito Nunes (2013) and Rohden and Pires (2009),
allowed us to demonstrate how these themes dialogue in an interchange of both scientific
areas, Literature and Philosophy, offering new lineament and possibilities of interpretation for
its stories, in face of the choices and the existence of each character and, in addition,
demonstrate how Rosa’s literature itself dialogues with these two scientific areas, still barely
explored by its literary fortune
