Esta tese se propôs a investigar, a partir de narrativas historiográficas, a Educação Sexual (ES), bem como as representações sobre a sexualidade de cinco mulheres idosas criadas parcialmente ou totalmente no campo/zona rural, que tiveram pouco ou nenhum acesso à escola e à educação científica. Para alcançar os objetivos, utilizou-se tanto fontes orais – mulheres idosas que cresceram e/ou vivem região norte do Estado do Paraná – quanto fontes teóricas. As análises foram conduzidas a partir das convergências encontradas nas cinco histórias, das quais emergiram cinco eixos temáticos, a saber: Meninas que sobreviveram; O vidro que quebraram; Sangue ruim e as vozes inexistentes; A matrona; A floresta proibida. As representações sobre a sexualidade feminina foram discutidas em uma seção que chamamos de Biologia dos corpos. Percebeu-se que a ES das depoentes foi um processo envolto por muitos silêncios, normas e proibições e aconteceu, em grande parte, em instâncias sociais como a família e igreja. A ausência da escola e de uma ES formal interferiu diretamente na vivência da sexualidade, que foi marcada por muita opressão e violência. Espera-se que este estudo traga visibilidade a mulheres que foram silenciadas durante grande parte de suas vidas e contribua para as discussões sobre a relevância do conhecimento científico e da Educação Sexual escolar para o entendimento das questões do corpo e da sexualidade, bem como para a construção de uma sociedade sexualmente saudável.

This thesis proposes to investigate, from historiographical narratives, Sexual Education (SE), as well as the representations about the sexuality of five elderly women raised partially or totally in the countryside/rural area, who had little or no access to school and to science education. To achieve the objectives, both oral sources were used – elderly women who grew up and/or live in the northern region of the State of Paraná – and theoretical sources. The analyses were conducted based on the convergences found in the five stories, from which five thematic axes emerged, namely: Girls who survived; The glass they broke; Bad blood and the non-existent voices; The matron; The forbidden forest. Representations of female sexuality were discussed in a section called Biology of bodies. It is noticed that the SE of the deponents was a process surrounded by many silences, norms and prohibitions, and happened, in great part, in social instances such as the family and the church. The absence of school and a formal higher education directly interfered in the experience of their sexuality, which was marked by a lot of oppression and violence. It is hoped that this study will bring visibility to women who have been silenced for most of their lives and contribute to discussions about the relevance of scientific knowledge and sexual education at school in order to understand body and sexuality issues, as well as for the building of a sexually healthy society.
