A tese aqui apresentada teve como intuito estabelecer e ponderar as relações entre a configuração mural verificada nos romances Chão Bruto (1955) e Selva Trágica (1976) de autoria de Hernani Donato, e as projeções da referida configuração quanto à constituição discursiva presente nas tramas. Ambos os romances em análise contemplam sua esfera ficcional permeada pelo campo histórico – em Chão Bruto (1955) tem-se o povoamento do oeste paulista em virtude da ótica expansionista atuante sobre aquele espaço, e em Selva Trágica (1976), o contexto de exploração da erva-mate no sul do Estado de Mato Grosso - antes de sua divisão territorial, pela Companhia Mate Larangeira, responsável pela concessão das terras constituídas pelos ervais nativos. Projetou-se a análise de como o contexto histórico aliado à articulação discursiva auxiliam na construção de murais e submurais que desvelam os acontecimentos por meio da discursividade neles presentes. Enquanto suporte teórico para a realização das análises, foram elencados autores que pudessem contribuir quanto ao estudo do nível discursivo, como Norman Friedman, Mikhail Bakhtin e Valentin Volochinov. Estudos de teóricos que apresentam sua área de atuação voltada à Historiografia e História também foram utilizados a fim de fornecer informações que amparariam a compreensão das obras enquanto produto social. Nesse sentido, o estudo em questão buscou conceber as correlações históricas e sociais a partir do nível do discurso, analisando as inerências entre o contexto de produção na narrativa e a articulação dos fatos extrínsecos aos textos provenientes de um determinado momento histórico, verificando-se as referidas inerências no plano da linguagem e das instâncias discursivas presentes na narrativa tendo como base a projeção mural, a qual fora verificada enquanto perspectiva norteadora em ambos os romances, para que a narratividade pudesse ser manifesta de modo a contemplar todos os elementos existentes nas narrativas.

The thesis presented here aimed to establish and ponder the relations between the mural configuration verified in the novels Chão Bruto (1955) and Selva Tragica (1976) authored by Hernani Donato, and the projections of this configuration regarding the discursive constitution present in the plots. Both novels in analysis contemplate their fictional sphere permeated by the historical field – in Chão Bruto (1955) there is the settlement of the west of São Paulo due to the expansionist perspective active over that space, and in Selva Tragica (1976), the context of exploitation of yerba mate in the south of the state of Mato Grosso - before its territorial Division -, by the Companhia Mate Larangeira, responsible for granting the land constituted by the native trees of yerba mate. The analysis of how the historical context combined with discursive articulation help in the construction of murals and submurals that unblock events through the discursiveness present in them. As theoretical support for the analysis, authors were listed who could contribute to the study of the discursive level, such as Norman Friedman, Mikhail Bakhtin and Valentin Volochinov. Studies of theorists who present their area of activity focused on Historiography and History were also used in order to provide information that would support the understanding of the works as a social product. In this sense, the study in question sought to conceive the historical and social correlations from the level of discourse, analyzing the inerence between the context of production in the narrative and the articulation of extrinsic facts to the texts coming from a given historical moment, verifying the aforementioned inerences in the plane of language and discursive instances present in the narrative based on mural projection, which had been verified as a guide perspective in both novels, so that the narrivity could be manifested in order to contemplate all the elements existing in the narratives.
