dc.description.abstractA identificação de sítios de interesse geológico e sua divulgação para o público são alguns passos importantes para a sustentabilidade e a conservação da geodiversidade de uma região, especialmente para uma localidade cujo turismo é o principal contato dos habitantes com o meio abiótico. Para tal divulgação, destaca-se o uso de materiais interpretativos. Assim, a presente monografia avaliou a situação de divulgação dos sítios de interesse geológico na bacia hidrográfica do Rio Santo Antônio e do Rio Guaxinduba no município de Caraguatatuba (SP), identificou sítios de interesse geológico potenciais na área, e elaborou painéis interpretativos para alguns desses locais. Os sítios identificados na literatura e em subsequentes campanhas de campo foram avaliados com uma metodologia qualitativa adaptada da proposta de Brilha (2016). Nesta nova metodologia, foram descritas a diversidade geológica, potencial interpretativo, beleza cênica, acessibilidade, segurança e estado de divulgação de cada ponto. O material interpretativo elaborado para os sítios se baseou em diretrizes observadas durante a revisão bibliográfica, em especial de Tilden (1957) e Bruno & Wallace (2019). O município possui 13 sítios de interesse geológico (Arruda, 2017); destes, 9 encontram-se na área de estudo. Trabalhos de campo em 2018 identificaram mais 16 sítios potenciais. Uma campanha de campo de 2021 visitou 9 dos sítios inventariados e 2 sítios identificados em 2018, e 6 novos sítios potenciais foram encontrados. Na campanha de campo também se identificaram quatro painéis interpretativos, cujo conteúdo e nível de deterioração foram avaliados. Foram produzidos quatro painéis interpretativos para três dos locais visitados. A região possui mais sítios identificados próximos à costa, e há potencial na descoberta de novos pontos em locais mais interioranos ou menos turísticos. Há pouco esforço e investimento no geoturismo por parte da esfera municipal; são grupos de geocientistas como o GeoHereditas que tentam reverter essa situação. Como próximos passos, recomenda-se a instalação dos painéis produzidos nesta monografia, mais campanhas de campo para averiguar as condições de sítios potenciais e a produção de painéis em outros sítios que já possuem visitação turística.pt
dc.description.abstractThe identification of sites of geological interest and its promotion to the public are some important steps for sustainability and conservation of the geodiversity in a region, especially for a location whose tourism is the main contact of its inhabitants with the abiotic world. For such promotion, the use of interpretive materials is relevant. Therefore, the present thesis assessed the situation of the promotion of sites of geological interests in the hydrographic basins of Santo Antônio River and of Guaxinduba River in the city of Caraguatatuba (SP), identified potential sites of geological interest in the area, and crafted interpretive panels for some of those localities. The sites identified in the literature and on subsequent field works were assessed with a qualitative methodology adapted from Brilha (2016)'s proposal. In this new methodology, the elements described were the geological diversity, interpretive potential, scenery, accessibility, security, and state of promotion of each site. The interpretive material created for the sites were based on guidelines found during the bibliographic research, in special, those of Tilden (1957) and Bruno & Wallace (2019). The municipality has 13 sites of geological interest, of which 9 are within the study area. Field works in 2018 identified 18 additional potential sites. A field work was then conducted in 2021, and 9 of the inventoried sites and 2 sites identified in 2018 were visited. Additionally, 6 new potential sites were identified. During the field trip four other interpretive panels about geodiversity were identified, whose content and deterioration were examined also assessed. Four interpretive panels for three of the visited localities were produced. The region has more sites inventoried closer to the coast, and there is potential for discovery of new sites in less know locations or more inland. There is little effort and investment on geotourism by the municipal sphere; geoscientific groups like GeoHereditas are the ones trying to revert this situation. As next steps, it is recommended to install the panels produced in this thesis, more field works made to assess the conditions of potential sites, and the production of interpretive panels in other sites that are already touristic.en
