Fisioterapia na reabilitação de afecções musculares e tendíneas em cavalos atletas

Abstract

Cavalos atletas possuem tendência a sofrer lesões devido à exigência física durante as provas. Dessa forma, a fisioterapia tornou-se uma aliada interessante na medicina esportiva equina. Na fisioterapia, existem diversas técnicas que podem ser aplicadas, levando em consideração a individualidade do paciente e o tipo de lesão a ser tratada. Por meio destas, é visado a otimização da função física do movimento, a prevenção de sintomas e progressão de limitações. Neste trabalho, será realizada uma revisão de algumas destas técnicas, abordando seus princípios, efeitos e evidência científica.

Athletic horses tend to present injuries due to the physical demands of competitions. Therefore, physiotherapy has become an interesting ally in equine sport medicine. In physiotherapy, there are several techniques that can be applied, considering the individuality of the patient and the type of injury being treated. Through these techniques, the optimization of physical movement function, symptom prevention, and limitation progression are aimed. This work will review some of these techniques, discussing their principles, effects, and scientific basis.
