Esta pesquisa teve como objetivo principal realizar um diagnóstico das principais características do município de Uberaba/MG para a produção de conhecimentos escolares, por meio da sua materialização em um protótipo do atlas geográfico escolar municipal, na perspectiva do estudo colaborativo e da categoria lugar. A partir do material do atlas, foi possível difundir as informações socioespaciais do município de Uberaba, mostrando as transformações que a cidade passou, viabilizando o estudo das questões ambientais, da organização espacial, das características sociais, com base nas formas de moradia, das relações sociais e da produção cultural do lugar. A pesquisa foi embasada na metodologia qualitativa, uma vez que todo o material utilizado foi disponibilizado nas práticas docentes em seu dia a dia na escola. Além disso, esta pesquisa buscou atender a demanda de conteúdo programático da disciplina de Geografia e áreas afins, articulando de forma dinâmica conhecimentos sobre a Geografia e História do Município de Uberaba e os conhecimentos curriculares educacionais propostos pelos documentos oficiais como a Base Nacional Comum Curricular e as Diretrizes Curriculares da Educação Básica do município de Uberaba. Os resultados obtidos através do trabalho colaborativo e das práticas docentes foram satisfatórios e demonstraram a demanda e importância de materiais paradidáticos sobre o estudo do lugar, principalmente sobre os atlas geográficos escolares.

This research had as main objective to carry out a diagnosis of the main characteristics of the city of Uberaba/MG for the production of school knowledge, through materialization in a prototype of the municipal school geographic atlas, in the perspective of collaborative study and the study of the place. From the prototype of the atlas, it was possible to spread the sociospatial information of the municipality of Uberaba, showing the transformations that the city passed, making possible the study of the environmental questions, of the spatial organization, of the social characteristics, based on the forms of housing, of the social relations and cultural production of the place. The research was based on qualitative methodology, since all the material used was made available in teaching practices in their daily lives at school. In addition, this research sought to meet the demand for syllabus content in the discipline of Geography and related areas, dynamically articulating knowledge about the Geography and History of the Municipality of Uberaba and the educational curriculum knowledge proposed by official documents such as the National Common Curriculum Base and the Curriculum Guidelines for Basic Education in the municipality of Uberaba. The results obtained through teaching practices were satisfactory and demonstrated the demand and importance of paradidactic materials on the study of place, mainly on school geographic atlases.
