logística empresarial frente a humanitária.
Disasters, natural or caused by humans, are emergency situations that impede the ability to react independently and show the difficulty of organizations to effectively and efficiently manage the operations necessary to mitigate the vulnerability of who was affected. These difficulties also reflect the lack of studies related to the preparation and responses of operations, the gap between theory and practice and the fact that business logistics is front of the humanitarian. In this context, this study aims to characterize the humanitarian logistics and its importance. Through case studies of four disasters, which was complemented in a second moment with the analysis of a fifth, good practices and opportunities were identified. As analysis results, suggestions were made to increase the effectiveness and the process in other humanitarian response operations. This study contributes to identify procedures that can serve as basis to mitigate damage in similar disasters to those studied, adopting resources from Humanitarian Logistics
