dc.description.abstractThe physic nut (Jatropha curcas L.) is an oilseed producing plant, and although little studied, it has been considered an option for biodiesel production. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effects of plant growth regulators on plants under or not under salt stress. The experiment was carried out at the Environmental and Technological Sciences Department in the Rural Federal University of the Semi-Arid (UFERSA) in Mossoró-RN. A completely randomized and factorial design (2 × 6) was used with four replications. The treatments consisted of a combination of two salinity levels of irrigation water (0.5 and 5.0 dS m-1) with six concentration levels of plant growth regulator (0, 6, 12, 18, 24 and 30 mL L-1H2O) using the Stimulate® commercial product. The following development parameters were evaluated: number of leaves, leaf area, stem diameter, height and leaf, stem, root and total dry matter. The use of plant growth regulator had a significant effect only when water of lower electrical conductivity (0,5 dS m-1) was used, and the best results were obtained in concentration levels between 15 and 17 mL-1. The plant growth regulator was not efficient in plants under salt stress.en
