(Re)conhecendo meu lugar: a apropriação dos conceitos geográficos pelos educandos do 6º ano do Ensino Fundamental de Botucatu-SP.

Abstract

A presente pesquisa ressalta a importância do pensamento geográfico para a transformação social e preservação do meio ambiente. A unidade escolar é o local que deve propiciar a compreensão do educando acerca das relações estabelecidas entre o homem, natureza e a sociedade, desenvolvendo a alfabetização geográfica, para que seja possível apurar a “leitura do mundo”, e cabe ao educador da disciplina de Geografia prover a contextualização do conteúdo com o local de vivência do educando. O objetivo do trabalho é identificar a apropriação dos conteúdos de Geografia, pelos educandos do 6º ano do Ensino Fundamental II e analisar se existe a relação dos conhecimentos adquiridos em sala de aula, com as características geográficas do município de Botucatu-SP. A pesquisa apresenta uma abordagem dialética de caráter qualitativo, a fim de explorar por meio do levantamento de dados primários e secundários, a relação dos conceitos curriculares com a Geografia local, na busca por compreender se ocorre a contextualização do ensino de Geografia com as vivências dos educandos. Para a aplicação do objeto de aprendizagem utilizou-se uma sequência didática pautada em Almeida (1991), que pontua como etapas relevantes no ensino de Geografia a observação, comparação, análise dos fatos e a síntese. Mediante os resultados, é possível detectar que os educandos têm dificuldades em correlacionar os conteúdos escolares com as características do ambiente em que vivem, desconhecem os fenômenos responsáveis pela formação e transformação das paisagens que compõem o município, frequentam esporadicamente as cachoeiras e mirantes, pois estes locais se encontram distantes da área urbana, constatou-se que nos momentos de lazer os educandos têm como hábito ir aos centros comerciais de Botucatu-SP. Com o propósito de propiciar um ambiente virtual e interativo para o conhecimento da Geografia local, desenvolve-se um infográfico intitulado “(Re)Conhecendo meu lugar: Botucatu-SP”, de livre acesso e com caráter instrutivo, que aborda os fatores de formação endógena e exógena do relevo de Botucatu-SP e pode ser utilizado como um instrumento de ensino por educadores.

This research highlights the importance of geographic thinking for social transformation and preservation of the environment. The school unit is the place that should provide the student's understanding of the relationship between man, nature and society, developing geographic literacy, so that it is possible to ascertain the “reading of the world”, and it is up to the educator of the discipline of Geography taster the contextualization of the content with the place of experience of the student. The objective of the work is to identify an appropriation of the contents of Geography, by the students of the 6th year of Elementary School II and to analyze whether they relate the knowledge acquired in the classroom, with the geographical characteristics of the municipality of Botucatu-SP. The research presents a dialectical approach of a qualitative character, to explore, through the collection of primary and secondary data, the relationship of curricular concepts with local Geography, in the search to understand whether the contextualization of Geography teaching with students' experiences occurs. For the application of the learning object, a didactic sequence based on Almeida (1991) is elaborated that points out as relevant steps in the teaching of Geography the observation, comparison, analysis of the facts and the synthesis. Through the results, it is possible to detect that the students have difficulties in correlating the school contents with the characteristics of the environment in which they live, they are unaware of the elements responsible for the formation and transformation of the landscapes that make up the municipality, they attend sporadically as waterfalls and lookouts, as these places are distant from the urban area, it was found that during leisure time, students have a habit in shopping centers in Botucatu-SP. To provide a virtual and interactive environment for the knowledge of local Geography, develop an infographic entitled “(Re) Knowing my place: Botucatu- SP”, with free access and with an instructive character, which addresses the factors of formation endogenous and exogenous of Botucatu-SP relief and can be used as a teaching tool by educators.
