Process Mapping as a tool for records management

Abstract

The objective of this article is to identify the benefits of process mapping as a tool for document management. The methodological procedures include qualitative research of an exploratory and descriptive nature. As a research method, a bibliographic review was carried out. As a result of the research, it is clear that the process mapping supports decision making for Records Management, helping to reduce failures in the production or processing of documents, in the accumulation of documents, in the lack of procedures to deal with documents, access to information, which compromise the quality of the organization's daily activities.
