Este trabalho de graduação tem como enfoque investigar detalhadamente a Teoria de Representações
Projetivas a partir dos passos dados por Valentine Bargmann em 1954. Este, influenciado por Eugene
Wigner e seu trabalho acerca das representações do grupo de Poincarè, é responsável por influenciar
físicos de sua época até os dias de hoje. Apesar de ser um trabalho com rigor matemático, possui suas
raízes vinculadas à teoria quântica, uma vez que a motivação inicial do desenvolvimento da teoria vem
de uma exigência de simetria em Mecânica Quântica. Navegando desde os conceitos básicos até as
generalizações detalhadas dos resultados obtidos, o atual trabalho tem como objetivo ser um material
para estudantes interessados na área.
Abstract (english)
This work focuses on investigating in detail the Theory of Projective Representations from the initial
steps taken by Valentine Bargmann in 1954. This, influenced by Eugene Wigner and his work on the
representations of the Poincarè group, is responsible for influencing physicists from his time to the
nowadays. Despite being a work with mathematical rigor, it has its roots linked to quantum theory,
since the initial motivation for the development of the theory comes from a requirement of symmetry
in Quantum Mechanics. Navigating from the basic concepts to the detailed generalizations of the
results obtained, the current work aims to be a material for students interested in the field.
