A presente dissertação aborda a composição dos elementos cômicos na obra dramatúrgica A mandrágora, de Nicolau Maquiavel. O que está em destaque neste estudo é a relação entre a comédia e a moral, tendo como enfoque específico a controvérsia maquiaveliana ao ideal de moralidade herdado da filosofia tradicional e retomada sob nova perspectiva no pensamento cristão medieval, ancorada principalmente na noção de virtude, subvertida nos escritos do filósofo florentino. O proposto estudo pretende compreender com minúcias essa transição de valores representada com ironia pelo texto dramatúrgico, tendo como pressuposto a eficiência e preponderância da comédia na averiguação dos hábitos humanos frágeis e decaídos, em vias de mutação, e na contribuição que a comédia proporciona para a observância dos rumos da modernidade e da transição de valores, nas quais o teatro é um interlocutor privilegiado.
Abstract (english)
The present dissertation approaches the composition of the comic elements in the play The Mandrake, by Nicolau Machiavelli. What is highlighted in this study is the relationship between comedy and morality, with a specific focus on the Machiavellian controversy on the ideal of morality inherited from traditional philosophy and retaken taken up under a new perspective in medieval Christian thought, anchored mainly in the notion of virtue, subverted in writings of the Florentine philosopher. The proposed study intends to understand in detail the transition of values represented with irony by the dramaturgical text, based on the efficiency and preponderance of comedy in the investigation of fragile and declining human habits, in the process of mutation, and in the contribution that comedy provides for the observance of the paths of modernity and the transition of values, in which the theater is a privileged interlocutor
