Com o objetivo de investigar as repercussões clínicas, biomecânicas e histológicas no tecido ósseo de ratas submetidas a exercícios aquáticos após menopausa induzida por ooforectomia bilateral, foram estudadas 64 ratas adultas e virgens, Rattus novergicus albinus (linhagem Wistar). Os animais foram divididos em oito grupos em relação ao tratamento: ooforectomia bilateral ou cirurgia placebo (simulada), realizada aos quatro meses de idade; ao tipo de atividade: exercício aquático (natação induzida) ou sedentário e tempo de sacrifício: três ou seis meses. O protocolo de exercício aquático, após treinamento inicial foi padronizado em 60 cm de água, à 320C e duração de 60 minutos. As ratas sedentárias se mantiveram nas caixas durante o experimento. Para o estudo clínico foi considerado o peso corpóreo dos animais até o momento do sacrifício. A análise dos resultados obtidos permitiu concluir que a menopausa induzida pela ooforectomia bilateral causou ganho de peso corpóreo compensado parcialmente pelo exercício físico; A associação exercício físico e hormônio melhorou a resistência óssea (carga máxima e limite de elasticidade), a estabilidade da estrutura (coeficiente de rigidez), aumentou a espessura da cortical e preservou a área trabecular.
Abstract (english)
With the objective of investigating the clinical, biomechanical and histological repercussions in osseo tissue in female rats submit to aquatic exercise with induced menopause through ooforectomy, 64 virgin adult female rats were investigated, Rattus novergicus albinus (Wistar lineage). The animals were divided in eight groups concerning to the treatment: bilateral ooforectomy or simulated surgery (accomplished at four months of age); to the activity type: aquatic exercise (swimming induced) or sedentarism; and to the time of physical activity: three months or/and six months. The protocol of aquatic exercise, after initial training, was patterned in water at 60 cm, at 320C for 60 minutes. The sedentary female rats stayed in the cage during the experiment. For the clinical study the animals weight was considered at the moment of sacrifice. The analysis of the obtained results concludes that the menopause induced by bilateral ovariectomy caused a gain of weight parcially compesated by physical exercise; The association of physical exercise and hormone improved the bone resistance (maximum load and limit of elasticity), the structure estability (rigidity coefficient), increased the cortical thickness and preserved the trabecular area.
