O fenômeno do populismo digital: os novos medos e a massa digital no governo de Jair Messias Bolsonaro

Abstract

The phenomenon of digital contemporary populism is developed in Brazil by Jair Messias Bolsonaro. Articulating the neoliberal and neoconservative worldviews from the mobilization of new fears and resentment, the populist leader seeks to inflame the masses in order to redefine the meaning of the ideas of people, nation and society. This is only possible in the age of the network and in the age of globalization, in which a direct communication between the leader and the digital mass is established. Thus, the research has the general objective of comprehend the phenomenon of contemporary populism in Brazil. For that, the analysis of the political and emotive discourse and the esthetical manifestation by Jair Bolsonaro it will be made on Twitter, between September 6, 2018 and April 11, 2019, as well as the comments made by his followers. This analysis will be based on the sociological investigation of the force of the ideas by Karl Mannheim and the sociation and reciprocity by George Simmel. The social esthetic investigation by Barbara Carnevali and the linguistic studies by George Lakoff and Giuseppe Antonelli will also be used. In total, 148 tweets from Bolsonaro and 25 tweets from his followers were analyzed, highlighting the total identification with the leader’s voice, the use of emologismos and of a simple, vulgar and aggressive language. In short, Jair Bolsonaro articulates the new fears from a resignification of what the family is, the public security politics, the fight against material and moral corruption, the fight against left-wing ideologies in politics, and what is the notion of progress and prosperity. Finally, it was possible to perceive how emotions and feelings influence politics, as the populist leader Jair Messias Bolsonaro manages to comprehend the fragility of the human being in the social networks and reap what are the new fears, the afflictions, the sufferings and the concerns of part of the Brazilian population that is inserted in the context of social disorientation and to propose a new reactive social order.

O fenômeno do populismo digital contemporâneo é desenvolvido no Brasil por Jair Messias Bolsonaro. Articulando as visões de mundo neoliberal e neoconservadora a partir da mobilização dos novos medos e do ressentimento, o líder populista busca inflamar as massas a fim de redefinir o significado das ideais de povo, nação e sociedade. Isso só é possível na era da rede e na era da globalização, em que é estabelecida uma comunicação direta entre líder e massa digital. Assim, a pesquisa tem como objetivo geral compreender o que é o fenômeno do populismo contemporâneo no Brasil. Para isso, será feita a análise do discurso político emotivo e da manifestação estética de Jair Bolsonaro no Twitter entre o dia 6 de setembro de 2018 e 11 de abril de 2019, bem como dos comentários feitos pelos seus seguidores. Esta análise terá como base a investigação sociológica da força das ideias de Karl Mannheim e da sociação e reciprocidade de Georg Simmel. Também serão utilizadas a investigação da estética social de Barbara Carnevali e dos estudos linguísticos de George Lakoff e Giuseppe Antonelli. No total foram analisados 148 tweets de Bolsonaro e 25 tweets de seus seguidores, sendo possível destacar a identificação plena com a voz do líder, o uso de emologismos e uma linguagem simples, vulgar e agressiva. Em suma, Jair Bolsonaro articula os novos medos a partir de uma ressignificação do que é a família, as políticas de segurança pública, o combate à corrupção material e moral, o combate às ideologias de esquerda e do que é a noção de progresso e prosperidade. Por fim, foi possível perceber como as emoções e os sentimentos influenciam a política, na medida em que o líder populista Jair Messias Bolsonaro consegue compreender a fragilidade do ser humano nas redes sociais e colher quais são os novos medos, as aflições, os sofrimentos e as inquietações de parcela da população brasileira, inserida no contexto de desorientação social, e propor uma nova ordem social reativa.
