Literatura e música em diálogo: um estudo das leyendas de Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer e dos contos de Machado de Assis

Resumo
Este trabalho propõe um estudo comparativo entre os escritores Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer (1836-1870) e Machado de Assis (1839-1908) sob o ponto de vista da temática musical. Do primeiro autor analisaremos as leyendas “El Miserere” (1862); “Maese Pérez el organista” (1861) e o artigo “El maestro Hérold” (1859). Do segundo, os contos “Cantiga de esponsais” (1883); “Trio em lá menor” (1886); “O machete” (1878) e “Um homem célebre” (1888). Nas aproximações iniciais, comparam-se três narrativas que iluminam o tema da arte partindo dos problemas em torno da composição de uma obra musical e ressaltando a busca das personagens pela criação perfeita. Em seguida, foca-se a representação do músico compositor a partir de um estudo sobre quatro narrativas. Neste ponto, foi observado como os dois autores, de maneiras distintas, ao abordarem a figura do artista deixaram também rastros que tecem um paralelo com questões inerentes as suas próprias concepções literárias. Para as análises foi utilizada a teoria proposta por Claudio Guillén (1985), seguindo o método temático como base para as comparações. Desse modo, além de investigar as metáforas musicais que confluem para o âmbito linguístico, pretende-se ressaltar ainda as convergências e as diferenças percebidas no confronto entre os textos, retomando, assim, uma constante conexão entre as questões das singularidades locais em relação às perspectivas universais.
This work proposes a comparative study between the writers Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer (1836-1870) and Machado de Assis (1839-1908) surrounding musical themes. From the first author we will analyze the legends “El Miserere” (1862); “Maese Pérez el organista” (1861) and the article “El maestro Hérold” (1859). From the second, the tales of “Cantiga de esponsais” (1883); “Trio em lá menor” (1886); “O machete” (1878) and “Um homem célebre” (1888). In the initial approach three narratives will be compared that illuminate the theme of art starting with problems regarding the composition of a musical work, highlighting the character’s pursuit of the perfect artistic creation. Next we will focus on the representation of the composer musicians from a study of four narratives. At this point it was observed how the two authors, in diferent ways, when approaching the figure of artist also left trail of clues that have a parallel with issues inherent in their own literary conceptions. For the analyses used, the theory proposed by Claudio Guillén (1985) was adopted, following the thematic method as a basis for comparisons. Thus, in addition to investigating the musical metaphors that converge on the linguistic area, it is also this work´s intent to highlight the convergences and diferences perceived by confronting the texts, thus resuming a constant connection between the questions of local singularities in relation to universal perspectives.
