Resumo
Em virtude dos erros encontrados nos livros didáticos em Química, sobretudo quando o assunto é a estrutura da matéria, em especial aos estudos de Ernest Rutherford, o trabalho propõe o resgate das pesquisas e descobertas de Rutherford sobre os desvios causados pelas partículas alfa ao atravessarem a matéria. Tal fato o conduziu na elaboração do modelo atômico nuclear, mesmo sabendo que tal modelo chocava com as idéias da Mecânica Clássica. Para isso estamos utilizando a História da Ciência, numa visão internalista, como fonte de dados, ou seja, a leitura dos originais de Rutherford e de outros cientistas que corroboraram com seus estudos. A pesquisa também propõe discutir alguns aspectos importantes sobre a inserção da História da Ciência no Ensino de Ciência assim como a importância do conhecimento químico em nossa sociedade.
Because of the countless found in the text books in Chemistry, above all when the subject is the structure of the matter, especially to Ernest Rutherfords's studies, the work proposes the rescue of the researches and discoveries of Rutherford on the deviations caused by the alpha particles by matter. Such fact lead him in the elaboration of the nuclear atomic model, knowing that such model shocked with the ideas of the Classic Mechanics. For this we are using the History of Science, in an internally vision, as source of data, in other words, the reading of the originals of Rutherford and of other scientist's papers that corroborated with their studies. The research also considers discussing some important aspects about the insert of the History of Science in the Science Teaching as well as the importance of the chemical knowledge in our society.
